課程概述

This is a SURVEY COURSE, which means that you will be provided with lots of knowledge and information about the basics of good presenting. This course is primarily designed for undergraduate students who want to improve their English presentation language and techniques for future academic presentations. The focus is on developing commonly used functional skills for all types of presentations.

課程目標
By the end of the course, you should be able to:
 Know how to create the most commonly used elements of a presentation.
 Present more confidently by improving your presentation vocabulary range
 Apply voice techniques to your presentations to enhance your communication and be more persuasive. 
課程要求
This course is taught in 100% English, and materials are in 100% English. This course will be difficult for you if your English test scores are low.

1) Attendance on enrollment day is mandatory for this class. If you do not attend on the first day your place will be given to someone else. No show = No enrollment.

2) Lectures and materials are presented 100% in English. You will need to have a confident level of English to successfully participate in this course. Group discussions, however, can be conducted in any language.

3) This course is specifically designed to learners who have not yet begun a research project, such as undergraduates. This course especially welcomes undergraduates from any discipline. Graduate learners who possess a low level of English, or who want basic presentation practice, will be considered for this course.

4) Sorry, due to the high participation level in this course, no auditors are allowed.

Up to the instructors discretion. However, will include things such as: •Attending all classes and tutorials •Submitting homework assignments by deadlines. •Giving and receiving feedback to your group. •Participating in evaluations of presenters from other groups. •Initiating discussion, sharing knowledge and experience with other presenters. •Presenting to your group and to the class. •Doing assigned tasks during class. •Being prepared for class. •Completing, reading or watching assigned homework materials. •Bringing all needed materials to every class •Interacting with the instructor--verbally and/or by email.

A structured and thorough self introduction

Presentation 2: Describe

A 4-5 minute presentation describing a phenomenon

Presentation 3: Demonstrate

A 5-6 minute presentation demonstrating and educating an audience about something

Final Presentation: Persuade

6-10 minute presentation persuading your audience to share or consider your position more.
